Domenii de interes stiintific

Principala tema de cercetare este reprezentata de studiul fiziologiei celulelor stem si evaluarea plasticitatii acestora, cu aplicabilitate in terapiile celulare. In domeniul medicinei regenerative am urmarit utilizarea celulelor stem mezenchimale in bolile osteo-articulare si boli ale tesuturilor conjunctive investigand metodologia optima de obţinere, cultivare si expandare a celulelor stem mezenchimale din diferite surse.
O serie de studii au avut in vedere interacţiunea diverselor biomateriale cu ţesuturile vii, bazat pe studiul biocompatibilitatii in vitro si in vivo, studiul efectului in vitro a unor substanţe si materiale asupra creşterii si diferenţierii celulare.
O alta tema de interes este reprezentata de studiul fiziologiei cailor respiratorii, cu focus asupra raspunsului musculaturii netede la diversi agenti bronho-activi si asupra rolului celulelor epiteliale respiratorii si a celulelor imune in reactivitatea bronsica. .
